  • Let the Peace of Christ Rule in Your Hearts

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

    – Colossians 3:15
  • Christians Can Experience a Cushion of Peace

I remember reading about what is called “the cushion of the sea.” The ocean surface is often greatly agitated, but as you descend, the water becomes increasingly calm. At its greatest depths the ocean is virtually still. Oceanographers dredging ocean bottoms have found animal and plant remains that appear to have been undisturbed for hundreds of years.

Similarly, Christians can experience a cushion of peace in their souls regardless of their troubled surroundings. That’s because they belong to God, who is the source of peace; serve Christ, who is the Prince of Peace; and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who is the agent of peace. Galatians 5:22 says, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, [and] peace.” When you become a Christian, God grants you the gift of peace.

  • There is Strength in Self Control

    Choosing a Better Response

“Repay no one evil for evil” is a command that runs against our natural instincts. When we are wronged, misunderstood, or hurt, the impulse to respond in kind can feel justified. Yet the way of Christ calls us higher. It invites us to break the cycle rather than continue it.

Responding to evil with evil only multiplies pain and deepens division. But choosing restraint, grace, and integrity in the face of wrongdoing reflects a different spirit—the Spirit of Christ. This does not mean ignoring injustice or pretending harm doesn’t matter. It means refusing to let someone else’s actions dictate our character.

There is strength in self-control. There is power in choosing peace when conflict is easier. When we respond with compassion instead of retaliation, we demonstrate a transformed heart—one that has been shaped by mercy rather than ruled by anger.

In a world where retaliation is common, choosing righteousness stands out. It becomes a quiet but powerful testimony that God is at work within us, guiding our responses and shaping our lives. Each moment we choose good over evil, we reflect His nature and allow His light to shine through us.

Repay no one evil for evil. —Romans 12:17

  • Praying for Complicated Relationships

Over the years we all have a few complicated relationships. Fault aside…it just happens. Sometimes these are in business or with family or friends. Many times we come to an impasse and cannot move forward with that person and it’s a difficult dilemma to be in.

Most of us want people to like us. Most of us do not want to burn bridges. Most of us want peace in relationships. Sometimes though it’s just not possible and we have to disconnect from that person or they do from us. Sometimes it’s the only way.

These hardships can hurt and cut deeply. If it’s not a break-up it can feel like a break-up. If we lose a customer it can sting. If someone isn’t healthy for us or is a bad influence and we know we have to move-on well it may be the right thing to do…but it’s tough and it’s painful.

I’ve found in business, friendships, and family that whenever there is an issue that we cannot work out, even through prayer, we still need to Pray … Pray for that person, Pray for the specific situation, Pray for ourselves and how to handle it all. When we find a compromise or agreement cannot be met and we have to agree to disagree well then we still should Pray for it all…Pray for each other.

Sometimes God see’s what we do not in a relationship and in His bigger picture He’s protecting us and them so we have to trust His process. If we’ve prayed and listened to God before, during and after the situation then we should trust to keep things peaceful and move on peacefully or stay near each other peacefully.

Personally I’ve found a peace in those painful circumstances when I continue to Pray for that person and myself. I Pray that everything goes according to God’s Will and we all are blessed, protected and safe.

    Don’t stop Praying for relationships.

  • I Will Pray With My Spirit

“I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.”

    – I Corinthians 14:15
  • Praying for Dance Recitals

My wife has a wonderful Christian dance studio and each year before recital things can be stressful. I do my best to help her out with non-dance things in her business and at home and with the kids. The recital is the peak of their dance year. It’s the culmination of what they’ve learned and practiced showcased in a couple shows to family and friends. It’s important. It’s a beautiful production. It’s a worship experience too.

Every year there’s always things behind the scenes that no one has any clue about that can be difficult. These things can range from music/sound, lighting, program delays, technical glitches, issues with parents, dancers personal issues, someone loses a family member, etc. The main way my Christian wife deals with any and all things related to that recital is to Pray.

She will pray for and about each dancer, family member, the stage, sound, lights, staff, and all the details big and small. She prays before, during and after the recital. I’ve watched her and her Sister bless auditoriums with oil, walk thru the halls and rooms, pray aloud and pray to themselves…they just Pray.

After each recital there are many prayers of thanks too.

    Prayer is powerful.

    Prayer works.

  • Joyful, Patient, Faithful

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in Prayer.”

    – Romans 12:12
  • God answered Prayers about my weight

There’s been many times in my life where I’ve prayed for God’s help. As an obese kid and teenager I’d pray for my size and would think I needed to be sent off to an island somewhere and forced to lose weight thru living without distractions and junk food temptations. I know my Mom prayed for me too. I didn’t have many girls talk to me except the lunch ladies lol! I was hurting inside. I would see muscle magazines and never in a million years believed I’d have muscles.

Fast forward thru the years with lots of action on my part and support from my Mom and Dad I lost over 100 pounds, became a Personal Trainer, wrote for many of those magazines, have muscles, stay in shape, play sports and more healthy stuff!

God answered those Prayers. It might not have been how I thought He would but he did.
  • Wash Your Sins Away

“And now what are you waiting for?
Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.”

    – Acts 22:16
  • Prayer is our Go-To

As Christians our go-to should be Prayer. When things get tuff…we should Pray. When someone is sick…Pray. When things are going good…we should Pray even more.

Whether in our personal lives, business, health, community, Church, missions, school, or whatever we do…in ALL things we should Pray.

I believe Prayer is the single most powerful tool we have as a Believer. God gave us access to Him, a direct line, allows us to have private conversations with Him anytime 24/7, 365 to stay connected with Him.

We are blessed to be able to have such a personal relationship with the almighty God that anytime we want to we can talk to Him.

In Prayer we can give thanks, ask for help, cry, scream, laugh, discuss business strategies or seek direction according to His Will not ours. We are fortunate to have such a lifeline in God that he is at our side and in our hearts all the time.

Thank you God for giving us Prayer.
