  • One Day Jesus Was Praying

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’”

    – Luke 11:1
  • Pray for difficult relationships.

Many times when I felt at a roadblock with a friend or family member I had nothing else left to do but Pray. I’ve learned my lesson because Prayer should have been at the forefront to begin with in all my relationships.

Countless times when no other human option worked Prayer came thru. God has healed relationships in my life and helped create peace thru wisdom gained from specific Prayer.

Now I make sure I Pray before phone calls with family, outings with friends, business relationships and more. I Pray for wisdom, guidance, direction and protection often to help me navigate relationships. I wouldn’t be effective on my own with taking direction from God thru Prayer.
  • Pray for those who mistreat you.

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

  • Give Thanks to the Lord for His Love Endures Forever

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever…to the One who remembered us in our low estate, His love endures forever. And freed us from our enemies, His love endures forever.”

    – Psalm 136 : 1-3, 23-24
  • My Little Nieces have a Prayer before meals

My Daughter told me her cousins (my little Nieces) have a prayer they use before meals too and it’s like a sweet little rhyme and song Prayer:

“God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings…Amen, Amen.”

  • The Name of the Lord is to be Praised!

“Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.”

    – Psalm 113:2-3
  • A Kids Prayer Before Meals

My two youngest kids usually have a go-to Prayer they use before meals when they are asked to Pray. I asked my youngest (6) to help me write this so I can share that Prayer:

    (It’s like a rhyming song/Prayer combo)

We are thankful, we are thankful, for our food, for our food. All of us together, all of us together, thank you God, thank you God.

    Amen.

  • His Love Endures Forever

“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare His praise? Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.”

    – Psalm 106:1-3
  • Prayer and a Shooting Star

When I was about 17 years old my Mother was having some heart issues and it was scary for us all because her Mom (my Grandmother) had had an open heart surgery a few years prior. The tests were not going well and we were all very concerned. I remember one night clearly I went outside to take a walk to walk off some stress and worry and my girlfriend at the time joined me. I didn’t want to bother her but I started talking about how I was feeling about the test results and what we were in for in regards to options for Mom’s survival.

I/we had prayed that night earlier and just as my girlfriend and I were walking in the dark down my driveway we both looked up and saw a bright shooting star, clear as day, go across the sky in front of us…we both couldn’t believe and stood still and in awe at what had just happened as we discussed Mom. A calm feeling fell over me and I began to cry…not wanting to because I thought I’d look like a wuss lol but I couldn’t help it. I knew at that very moment God was telling me Mom would be ok. I knew with 100 percent certainty it was all going to be ok and it was.

About 18-19 years later my Mom had some pains and went in for a heart catherization and then had open heart surgery for the blockages and still lived more years until lymphoma came and took her life.

God was speaking to me that night with an answer in that one lone shooting star on our walk at that exact moment when I was sad and desperate to not lose my Mom. He answered my prayers as a teenager again.
