  • Pray as if you were to die tomorrow

“Pray as if you were to die tomorrow”

  • Grace and Gratitude

This painting was in my Grandparents house as a kid and I loved it. It means so much to me.

I wanted to understand the background of it and I found out it’s called “Grace”. It was originally a photo taken by Swedish-American photographer Eric Enstrom then became an oil painting then color added by his Daughter later. All of this began around 1918 during WW1 and was meant to show gratitude.

This piece of artwork was and is meant to say we still have so much to be thankful for.

We need to Thank God today and give thanks for all He has done so far in our lives.

  • The Scriptures Are Not Empty

My wife and I have been prayin hard this past week about some situations we’ve had to deal with regarding her past abuse. We’ve had to pray about what moves to make, legal strategies, mercy and forgiveness.

As usual my wife goes to the Bible for direction and answers. We had about an hour to make some heavy decisions on an intense issue and she began texting me halfway thru the hour some pictures of her Bible, areas she’s underlined, scriptures that were specifically speaking to her about this specific situation.

We both planned to pray during that hour before the important phone call/meeting. By the time I was home she had her answer and began explaining things to me as to why and what God was telling her. God was answering her prayers with guidance directly related to what she/we needed to do. She said remember a few weeks ago when I said this and that and she said this kept popping up in her head and when she spoke and suddenly all of those things culminated into an answer we needed within that hour of that day for that meeting…it wasn’t a coincidence. I even became emotional right before the phone call because the only explanation was God answering her Prayers and my Prayers.

Right before the phone rang she looked at me with tears and said “The scriptures are not empty.”

    Goodness was she ever right.

The Bible is real and there is power in Prayer!

  • The Armor of God

    The Armor of God

“10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.“

    – Ephesians 6: 10-18 NIV
