Be Thankful in Prayer, Devote Yourselves
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message.”
– Colossians 4:2-3 -
Remember to Thank God
I have to stop myself every so often when I Pray and remember to just give thanks to God…simply give thanks for all He has done, all He’s gotten me thru, all His many blessings in my life.
So many times we get caught up in asking for help, asking for guidance, direction, protection, and more yet we forget to be appreciative. We forgot to say a simple Thank You God.
Thank you God for all you’ve done, are doing, and continue to do in my life. I love You God. Amen. -
Prayer Can Change the Course of Events
“We can change the course of events if we go to our knees in believing prayer.”

Renew My Strength for Tomorrow
“At the end of the day, I rest in the peace that comes from knowing You, Lord. Guide me as I sleep, and renew my strength for tomorrow.”
– Charles Spurgeon -
Let the Peace of Christ Rule in Your Hearts
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
– Colossians 3:15 -
Christians Can Experience a Cushion of Peace
I remember reading about what is called “the cushion of the sea.” The ocean surface is often greatly agitated, but as you descend, the water becomes increasingly calm. At its greatest depths the ocean is virtually still. Oceanographers dredging ocean bottoms have found animal and plant remains that appear to have been undisturbed for hundreds of years.
Similarly, Christians can experience a cushion of peace in their souls regardless of their troubled surroundings. That’s because they belong to God, who is the source of peace; serve Christ, who is the Prince of Peace; and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who is the agent of peace. Galatians 5:22 says, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, [and] peace.” When you become a Christian, God grants you the gift of peace.

There is Strength in Self Control
Choosing a Better Response
“Repay no one evil for evil” is a command that runs against our natural instincts. When we are wronged, misunderstood, or hurt, the impulse to respond in kind can feel justified. Yet the way of Christ calls us higher. It invites us to break the cycle rather than continue it.
Responding to evil with evil only multiplies pain and deepens division. But choosing restraint, grace, and integrity in the face of wrongdoing reflects a different spirit—the Spirit of Christ. This does not mean ignoring injustice or pretending harm doesn’t matter. It means refusing to let someone else’s actions dictate our character.
There is strength in self-control. There is power in choosing peace when conflict is easier. When we respond with compassion instead of retaliation, we demonstrate a transformed heart—one that has been shaped by mercy rather than ruled by anger.
In a world where retaliation is common, choosing righteousness stands out. It becomes a quiet but powerful testimony that God is at work within us, guiding our responses and shaping our lives. Each moment we choose good over evil, we reflect His nature and allow His light to shine through us.
Repay no one evil for evil. —Romans 12:17

Praying for Complicated Relationships
Over the years we all have a few complicated relationships. Fault aside…it just happens. Sometimes these are in business or with family or friends. Many times we come to an impasse and cannot move forward with that person and it’s a difficult dilemma to be in.
Most of us want people to like us. Most of us do not want to burn bridges. Most of us want peace in relationships. Sometimes though it’s just not possible and we have to disconnect from that person or they do from us. Sometimes it’s the only way.
These hardships can hurt and cut deeply. If it’s not a break-up it can feel like a break-up. If we lose a customer it can sting. If someone isn’t healthy for us or is a bad influence and we know we have to move-on well it may be the right thing to do…but it’s tough and it’s painful.
I’ve found in business, friendships, and family that whenever there is an issue that we cannot work out, even through prayer, we still need to Pray … Pray for that person, Pray for the specific situation, Pray for ourselves and how to handle it all. When we find a compromise or agreement cannot be met and we have to agree to disagree well then we still should Pray for it all…Pray for each other.
Sometimes God see’s what we do not in a relationship and in His bigger picture He’s protecting us and them so we have to trust His process. If we’ve prayed and listened to God before, during and after the situation then we should trust to keep things peaceful and move on peacefully or stay near each other peacefully.
Personally I’ve found a peace in those painful circumstances when I continue to Pray for that person and myself. I Pray that everything goes according to God’s Will and we all are blessed, protected and safe.
Don’t stop Praying for relationships.

I Will Pray With My Spirit
“I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.”
